  1. I´ve downloaded "The Mexican" in .avi, but when i try to convert in into .mpg with TMPG I have no sound. So I tried to convert the sound with virtual dub buit it gives me error messages liké "ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format" and "AVIOutputWAV: Handle not valid (or something like that)". But converting other movies did work! With sound etc.! Maybe I have the wrong codecs? I installed the Kristal Codecs! HEELP!

You have a corrupt file. Nothing you can do about that. Some of the movies you get off the net are like that.

  5. first question..can you hear the movie when played back on your pc? if yes, then the solution is simple.

first save wav using vdub. rename *.wav to *.ac3 (u can do this when saving, just choose "all files" and call it *.ac3). next use ac3dec to convert ac3 audio track to wav format, otherwise your audio will have pops and hiccups (annoying to say the least). finally, use your avi as video source, and your new wav file as audio source and encode with tmpegenc.

unless you actually DO have a corrupt file, this will work for ya. i aint even gonna get into the morality issue of downloading this stuff.. ; )

I extract the Audio as WAV in Vitural Dub, then use that Wave as Audio Source in TMPGenc... and the Video File as Video Source.. never had any problmems more than Out of sync stuff!

    Thanx/
