    I'm trying to record directly to DivX but it seems to do this no matter what compression I use. I am having an audio problem. I get great video at a small file size but without sound. The audio is plugged directly into the Line-In on my sound card. I can hear audio during recording and it displays that it is recording the sound with the video, but there is no sound during playback. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

    System: OS- Dual boot Win2000 & Win98 (seperate partitions), FIC SD-11 mother board, Athlon 700, 128 MB, ATI All In *Blunder* card. I also have a WinTV PVR PCI card installed, but disabled for now.

  2. double click the windows yellow speaker (alternatively, go to advanced volume controls under sound in control panel), hit
    Options - > properties -> recording

    make sure the line-in volume is checked and nonzero

    note:with the ATI cards in MMC, it saves its own volume settings while it's active, so they can be different than the normal windows defaults that your other programs would use...
