    by installing the program to your cd-rw, with a udf formated cd?

    Depends on the program, if it doesn't mind read only on the files, although most need to be able to write ini files etc. Currently CD-r/w drives are not very good at packet writing even with custom software. If it did work it would be very slow compared to a hard drive. This shouldn't be a problem when CD MRW (mount ranier) arrives, the first drives are being released as we speak and firmware updates for some drives are not far off. The CD-MR/W allows 'random' access like a very big floppy drive.

    My friend wants to run AIM but she doesn't want to install cause her mom might not like it.

    I told her she might be able to run it from a cd.

  4. your pc needs to make registry settings with the programs you install, so yeah you can install then burn the folder from program files onto a cdr.. but the registry settings will be there to stay until you uninstall the program.
