  1. Alright... I have been trying to rip a particular DVD all weekend with no success. Originally I was using the newest version of DVD2SVCD, but a friend told me it's a little buggy, so I then switched to 1.0.8 Build 1. The main problem lies with the audio... I tried downsampling to 44KHz and also leaving the default settings, both resulting with the same problem. I switch the bitrate to 192kbps also. What ends up happening is the first five minutes of the audio is encoded, and I'm left with no sound after that. I have converted several AVI's to SVCD in the past, but only one DVD rip... but it was fine, no problems at all. Another thing is on the second disc it starts to repeat the movie, and I then have to go into TMPGEnc and cut it, then re-multiplex... and the original problem still exists. I have a feeling that the problem is caused by maybe leaving the stream at 48kbps...(?) If any of you hardcore people out there can help me out I would REALLY appreciate it. Thx in advance.

  3. i will definitely give thata try. i was thinking about doing it manually too... but here's what happened; after reripping/encoding etc in dvd2svcd, the problem with the audio was fixed, but there was a major problem with the image. eventually, after trying everything i could think of (and i am a noob), i demultiplexed the first mpg using an older version of TMPGEnc, then multiplexed again... seemed to fix the problem. testing right now with a rewritable. anyways, thanx for the suggestion, i appreciate it.
