TMPGENC keeps freezing PC

Withe several differnt AVIs, tmpgenc keeps crashing my PC. it just freezes up and nothing will work unless I hit reset. The progress could make 5% or 90 % or anywhere in between. There appears to be no pattern. I have a 1gb proceesor with 256 DDR ram and 20gb drive, running W2K.

Please help if you know whats up.

what version TMPGenc?

Do you run any softwares in backgound when you encoding with TMPGEnc like Anti virus, Firewall? Try to disable all and encode again see if that help?

Actually I don't really think this is the cause though. In my old system which is only 466 MHz I had Norton Anti virus and Norton internet securities which all know they're resource eating. And I have no problem at all when encode with TMPGEnc and also run these 2 program over night.

You can also check if your avi files have bad frames which will cause the problem. Or maybe try same avis in different system to see if problem is your system or the files.
