  1. I was just looking at clock stoppers the movie in svcd format, it is the best quality that i have ever seen before. Is there any way that i can find out what was used to create such a file?

When i try to play it with windows media player on xp, it only plays for a few seconds and it stops. When i look at the file details from within media player, i can only see the audio and video codec which is: MainConcept MPEG Video Decoder, i don't know if that is sonic foundry or someone else.

No information on bitrate or anything else, i can't even open the file in virtualdub to get file details. Can anyone give me some info on this, i really like the quality of this mpg, i have never seen quality like this before; it was like looking at an actual dvd movie.

Is there anything that i can use to find out what this mpg was created with, so i can possibly utilize the same settings and create my own with the same quality.

    Appreciate it.

Bitrate viewer might give more info, but not what you really want to know. The only way to know for sure is to contack the author and ask.

  3. snowmoon is right your best bet is to contact the author and ask how he did it. Bitrate viewer can give you information like the picture structure, bitrate, etc, but it can't tell you which encoder was used (quality varies with encoder) or any filters that may have been used etc.
