Is there a program that will convert Quicktime to Mpeg, or even avi- so that I can convert it to mpeg?

I tried, megapeg, but I couldn't get it to work no matter what settings I used. It acts like it's going to encode, but then it just stops, leaving an mpeg file that's about 10kb large.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Looks like TMPGEnc is your answer:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

Remember this warning from the guide:

To convert from QuickTime MOV videos you must download the QTReader.vfp, copy it to the TMPGEnc folder.
    Hello.

Just an add-on to Tommyknocker's post,
If you use the QTReader.vfp with TMPEGnc don't be suprised if it hangs at the end when it completes the file. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Whatever the case it won't effect the finished encode. Just use ctrl+alt-delete to close out TMPEGnc.

On the assumption you downloaded the free version of TMPGEnc did you also download the VFAPI plug-in? If not do so and then unzip it to the same folder as TMPGEnc.exe is stored, then run "TMPGEncVFP_Install.bat". After that open up TMPGEnc and on the options tab look to see if "Register TMPGEnc.vfp to VFAPI" has a check mark next to it and if not do so. Also the quicktime plug-in has to be placed in the same directory.
