I used Logoaway to blur a timer on my avi. Now the new version's audio is way out of sync. The original is fine, I assumed it would be virtually a straight copy but with the filter added? Am I missing a setting somewhere?
I did get a "improper vbr audio encoding..." message when I loaded the file.

"improper vbr audio encoding..."
Good luck. :c)There's no place like 127.0.0.1

Thanks. I'd hoped I just missed a setting somewhere. You know, a check box labelled "just copy everything and add filter without buggering anything up" sigh

Awww :c) I know. Thing is, once you fix that, chances are good something else will crop up to deal with next.
That's why this site got started I suppose. There's always something.
Don't give up. Tackle things and try fixes one at a time. Don't forget to sleep and eat every so often. :cD It helps.
There really are lots of threads to look at. You may hit on the right one straight away. Fingers crossed.
Best of luck. :c)There's no place like 127.0.0.1

The only thing Logoaway can do is slow the processing
down so that the video "appears" to be out of sync on
playback 'cause the computer can't keep up. -
Foo - do you mean while previewing? Lyc said the new version, so I took that to mean the output file.

Yes,
I know it was probably irrelevent , since he has vbr AC3.
It sometimes happens that everything is fine until you
appy a filter , and it breaks , so you think the filter did it. -
Lycanthrope,
try this - go back to your original, open it in GoldWave then Save as a .wav (or load it into VirtualDub again, and select File->Save WAV)
You may wish to normalise the audio while you're at it: Effect->Volume->Maximise in GoldWave.
Load the video file into VirtualDub, and then select Audio->WAV audio and select the audio file you saved out of GoldWave.
Then set up your filters again and repeat the same process you did before with logoaway.
That might sort out you A/V sync problem - but it might cause different problems; the file might be much bigger if you had an mp3 or ac3 audio track before (as it will now be uncompressed PCM). If you do notice this, load your video into gSpot, and see what it says about the audio stream.
cheers,
mcdruid. -
Thanks everyone.
I saved the .wav with virtualdub and then repeated the process with the filter (using the wav as the sound source) and this seems to have worked.
Still think the "anti-bugger things up" button is a good ideaPeter B -
