Firstly, thanks for any replies i get to this...
Anybody got any idea why when trying to convert SVCD to VCD using TMPGEnc, it always crashes. Usually upon frame 15. Say i start at frame 30, it may sometimes work for a little while, but will always crash in the end.
Something to do with my codecs? I do have one installed, since I can watch them on Real Player and PowerDVD. What is the best codec to use?
Cheers!!

I suggest you treat SVCD file as a vob file. Load them into DVD2avi in order to get d2v file and use that file, of course with wave, in TMPGenc and see if TMPG still crash.
I have done converting mpeg2 to mpeg1 so many times with this method and so far never have any problmes. Even though, new plus version you can encode mpeg2 file directly(load mpeg2 file directly) within TMPGenc but still quality isnt' that good. -
Got that dvd2 avi program (never even heard of it before). In the process of converting it to avi, then will use TMPGEnc. Never had any problems processing avi files with it, so problem sorted (i think). Thanks!
