  1. Hi
I'm trying to convert a divx to mpg2. The audio track on the divx is ac3 with 2 audio tracks, German and Japanese. The default audio track is German, but I want the Japanese track. I have tried extracting it with Virtualdub and Heac3he, but have only managed the German track so far.

    Any Ideas?

    Regards

    Hi There,

I would try using DVD2SVCD, although i don't know it this will work but give it a try, get it from www.doom9.org. Install it, set it to work with either TMPEGnc or CCE 2.50, goto the MISC TAB and select the AVI option.

Go back to the Conversion TAB load up your AVI and see if that will bring up the dual audio in the window, if it does select the Japanese audio and deselect the German.

Like i said i don't know if this will work, but nothing beats a try and it's the only thing i can think of unless there are other VCDHELP members with other options.

  3. Tried DVD2SVCD.
Loaded up the AVI. It recognises one track as having three audio tracks on it (Ger/Jap/Mute?), but it won't allow me select which one I want to rip the movie with. Thought I'd give it a go anyway, and I got a lovely looking MPG with sound that was stuttering and crackling and gernerally a bit shit!!
Thanks for the advice. Cool program, but unfortunatly, still stuck with same problem!

Sorry that didn't work for you.

The only other thing i can think of is to try Graphedit, again from www.doom9.org.

Once downloaded, run the install.bat contained within it to register all the filters into you registry.

Follow the guide at doom9's site, click on the guide's option on the left, then on the audio related option, scroll down untill you see the option for DUAL AUDIO AVI GUIDE, the at very bottom of the page there is a small section about using Graphedit.

    Maybe that will work.
