  1. Hi guys,
I have followed a tutorial in the newbie section to fit a vcd on one cd.
The conversion went ok and the mpeg plays fine on my pc.
I burn with nero 5.5.8.0 using the vcd wizard at 2x speed.
I tried with various cd, cdr, cd rw.
The problem occurs on the standaloone player only which is brand new.
    It happens only with vcd.
It is awkward to describe, it is a kind of slightly stuttered playback.
It plays ok, then a break very quickly. You cant expect anyone to watch a movie like that and it is very annoying as very slight.
When I try the vcd on my pc, they play fine.
    Any ideas?
    thanks.

  2. If you deviated from the VCD standard in ANY way, you have NOT made a VCD, you have made an XVCD. While it can be said that a particular player will or will not play VCD, it is meaningless to say the same for XVCD, as all XVCD means is "MPEG1, BUT NOT VCD".

It sounds like that particular variation of XVCD does not play on your player. Confirm it plays a standard VCD first, then gradually test variations.

  3. thanks or your reply.
I was gong through the various settings in that tut. At one point it advises you to choose VCD non standard, in the mpeg settings.
Is it at that point that I could have created xvcd instead?
Another thing, when I loaded the movie, I didn't load the wav file as it the avi was occupying both boxes.
I am trying out avi+ wav for the moment. If that doesn't work I'll go for the standard vcd setting and will let you know.

Tried with avi and wav as a standard vcd in the moeg settings and now it's fine. Problem solved.

    thanks for your advice mate.

  5. I spoke too quickly...
The thing is if I make a non standard vcd, the file fits onto a cd (700M).
But if I choose std vcd in the settings, then the mpeg is over 900M.
I tried last night just with a clip as std vcd and that plays fine on my dvd player.
Please help me, how can I combine the 2?
