  1. I hope that someone can help me...
I have a new P4 1,6 GHz running overclocked @ 2,154 GHz on a Asus P4B533-E mainboard with 512 MB RAM and Windows XP.
I rip a dvd with smartripper 2.41 and extract the .wav file & create the .d2v file with DVD2AVI 1.76. Then I take these files into TMPGenc 2.57.41.146 to make a SVCD (PAL). Encoding works fine...picture quality is fine...but the sound has a "shhhh" in the background during the whole .mpg file. The .wav file is okay so it must be the encoding step which makes the sound "rustling"
I tried the following things :
    1. no overclocking -> no effect
    2. converting .wav file from 48 KHz to 44 Khz -> no effect
    3. using toolame as external encoder -> no effect
    4. using DVDx 2.0 to encode -> no effect

The sound rustles on the PC with Power DVD and also on the standalone DVD Player !

Does anybody have the same problem ?
Is it a problem of the hardware or the software ?

    Who can help ?

Tips auf Deutsch sind gern gesehen !

did you try a higher (or lower) bit rate of the AUDIO file ? (audio tab) . also (not that this is the problem) - error protection should be enabled .

you can also try to set de-emphasis to CCITT - though rarely would you have to do this ...
