  1. hi all ...
    i have dvd,changer,5 speakers and sub wooper.
    when i rip dvd using dvdx and burn it using nero, i can hear only
    in stereo when i play it in the dvd .
    is there's a way to burn movie and hear 5.1 channels?

    you need to downmix to dolby surround.....DVDx has this facility built in if you want it done easy...otherwise something like the azid plugin for besweet will do the trick.

  3. the checkmark in dvdx for dolby sorround is marked but still i can't hear in 5.1 ...

    1: Make sure you have the right audio track selected... AC3 6ch
    2: Make sure your DVD player is set up to not process the audio...just spit it out (if at all possible....in some cases this can destroy the surround information...I've seen it happen...or is that 'heard it happen' )
    3: Make sure that there is nothing between your dvd player and your sound equipment that could destroy the surround signal...if you pass the signal through other equipment this can kill surround....I'm not sure how...but it does.
    4: Make sure your equipment can process dolby surround....if it does 5.1 it should be able to do this though..

    Remember that the best you will get is 4ch Dolby Surround which is left, centre, right and surround.....you system will probably do some low pass stuff and give you sub as well....it isn't true surround but it's better than stereo.

  5. dont forget that the rear channels of dolby surround/ pro logic are more discreet than 5.1 digital. on my system i turn down the center speaker a fraction and put the rear speakers on full.

    how do you come up with this logic ? since all channels on pro logic are derived ..

    In the dvd player I turned on the prologic option and the audio
    played in 5 channels.
