I am trying to create a DVD using DVDit. I created my menu and placed some text and a button on it. The project size after that is done reads as .14 MB. I then link the only movie file of the Disk to a "play" button on the menu. The movie file that was made through TMPG is 3.9G. After I add the movie file on the project size jumps to 4.65G. That doesn't add up (why?). When I try to burn the DVD it says that the project size is too large and won't fit on the media. This makes no sense to me since my disks are suposedly 4.7G shouldn't it all fit fine? Thanks for any help.

A dvd only fits 4.37 GB, www.vcdhelp.com/dvd#1000
And if you are using DVDit SE it converts the audio to uncompressed audio, about 10 MB/minute, instead of compressed, about 2-4 MB/minute. -
The "4.7GB" number is misleading, much like hard drive capacities and CRT monitor sizes. It's actually ~4.3GB
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
Thanks for the advise. I was wondering though is there a way for DVDit to be set up to not use 10MB/minute on the audio? I do not like the fact that I have to dummy down my video as much as I have to so that the audio will fit with it. Thanks again.
