Good morning,
I have been recently searching for a new capture program to do all my recordings for me, with the least amount of "power-on" time for the PC (as it is in my network closet, gets a little warm in there when I close the door).
Power VCR works great, less crashes than my MMC in XP. Virtual VCR (the one that controls my Virtual Dub, not the other one, as I can't get it to work properly on sync). Virtual VCR is able to resume the PC from suspend, start Virtual Dub, start recording. When the recording is complete, it shuts down VirtualDub, and minimises itself. This allows XP to auto-suspend after my 15 minute timer, therefor lowering the heat buildup.
Is there some way I can get powerVCR II to unload itself, so the PC will automatically suspend? Is there a way I could use a task scheduler for this (by entering a command message perhaps?). At this point, PowerVCR II will resume the PC, record, then just sit there playing the TV signal. The computer will not standby when the tv app is actually active.
Thanks!
TJD
