    Sorry if this sounds stupid but is it possible to burn .AVI file direct to CD-R and if affirmative,which burning software can I use.Thanks for any input.

    Yes it does sound stupid have you never burned any files to a CDR before ?. The AVI is a file, just like any other...

    Unless you want to watch it on a DVD player, then just use ANY Burn software that makes CDR data disks.

    Thanks KingJohn for replying to this stupid question.I have burnt CDR before using Nero,CDRwin etc. but I am having prob burning an avi file since when I opened this burning software,they don't recognize avi files.Should I treat this file as a data cd?

    Yes if your just want to store the AVI as a data file, then yes its just a regular data disk just like any other.

    You would only select a VCD if you were going to make a VCD for your DVD player, then you would need to convert the AVI to Mpeg 1 before you did anything ele
