i have a very strange problem. for movies over 4.3gb after ripping, re-encoding, the authoring, the dvd will playback fine on my pc, but on my pioneer 646a dvd player the picture is slightly "zoomed in".. this only seems to affect 2:35:1 ratio movies, 1:85:1 are ok.
tools used for the process:
Ripping: DVD Decrypter
Processing: DVD2AVI / Ifoedit
Re-encoding: TMPGenc (using correct settings for 16:9, and "no margin keep aspect ratio)
Authoring: DVD Maestro (using 16:9 lb ratio)
the re-encoded m2v file has the full 2:35:1 viewing width when viewed in powerdvd, so does the authoured vobs that maestro produces. all ok so far.. until it is burned onto dvd-rw and played in my pioneer 646a, then about 1/2" to 3/4 " are missing from left and right sides, and the black borders top & bottom are slightly thinner, hence the "zoom" effect.
The pioneer 646a player is not set to zoom, and is set correctly for 16:9 playback on my widescreen tv.
Movies which are 1:85:1 or 4:3 are fine, just 2:35:1 that plays back with the zoom.
i cant imagine its the software.. surely not if the authored vobs are playing fine in powerdvd..??
If anyone else has had or knows of a similar problem, any advice would be appreciated.
thanks
