What codec is best for my Pentium 75mhz PC?

I'm trying to convert Scorpion King divx 23.976Frame rate in to a nice
size movie file asf or avi with a good codec that works on a P 75 and that
the movie does't go pass 450MB - 500MB I'm planing to use this resolution
308 x 128 as original is 2 times big also I good 2 problems It looks
impossible to make an asf with windows media producer asf on demand
because it only asks for frame rate like 15 or 25 or 30 but not 23,976 and
the other problem is that virtualdub is complening about the original divx's
sound something like that the sound is not same size as the video but I seen the movie 2 days ago and there was nothing wrong.

Can someone please give me a hand and try to make it easy on me
this will be my first movie that I convert.

Is your intention to use the P75 to play the AVI/ASF file or to do the conversion on the P75?

I'll use the P 75 for playing only I use the P 3 866mhz with 256 MB
to edit and play divx but I need to play movies down-stairs.

someone trying to us a p75 to run a windows environment and run system intensive apps such as digitial video.

Still got my p75 but only thing it is good for is running a nix server or variation of.

p75 with 16mb RAM, 540mb HD, 1MB video memory
AHHHH good times, wow 6 Windows 3.11 diskettes, OOOOH a circular aluminum HS, wow this thing couldn't even cool an inch of PCB in my water boxes.

With a P75, your only hope is MPEG-1 (and it probably won't play that well either).
