Does anyone know what is causing these or any more information about these. Basically I am getting around 7-8 of these a day and at 300k+ it quickly puts the hotmail account over the 2mb limit and stops legitimate email coming in. I know that I am not alone as my friends have also been complaining about them. As far as I can figure out they must spread through MSN Messenger as they come from people who are on my friends MSN lists but not on mine and who dont know my email address.
Anyone figured out how to block these or is it just something we have to put up with?

Whoa, you still get those? I remember my friends complaining about those e-mails around a month ago. I never got them, and I assumed the problem had been fixed. Maybe you could try setting up a mail filter so they get routed to your trash can or are automatically blocked? Are the subject lines always identical, or do they always contain certain unique words? Good luck fixing that... if I got multiple 300k messages daily in addition to all my other mail, I'd pretty much not have an e-mail account with MSN anymore unless I bought their extra storage... I bet Microsoft puts out half of this spam to encourage MSN users to buy more space. Jerks.

They all contain different subject lines but in the last week or so they have ceased coming through so I dont know whether Hotmail/MSN did something at a server level to block them or whether the worm/virus that was causing them was eradicated or went dormant.
