  1. Hello,
    I'm a long time reader, first time poster. I'm not that advanced with ripping DVD's, but I consider myself knowledgable. Currently I have ripped the VOB files from my Shrek DVD to my hard drive using smart ripper, and have frameserved it with DVD2AVI. I open the .d2v in TMPEG and I select my settings to encode it to SVCD. When I go to preview, to see what my output will look like, I get lines running across the frames. It does not happen at every frame, but seems to occur very often. I have noticed this with other DVDs I have tried to rip, and I can not find anything which mentions how to fix this. If someone could please recommend to me a way to fix the lines running across the frames I would be grateful. Thanks. It seems to occur when there is some sort of action, not when the characters are just sitting around.

  2. this is what you gotta look for in DVD2AVI

    Frame Rate = 25.000 fps: your source is PAL and you can skip the following step.

    Frame Rate = 29.970 fps: Let the preview run for a couple of minutes, then take a look at the Video Type: If it's FILM at a percentage higher or equal to 95% you can activate Forced FILM as shown below. Otherwise you will have to perform IVTC(InVerse TeleCine).

    in DVD2AVI
    for Inverse Telecine - click on Video -> Field Operation -> None
    for Film 95% and higher - click on Video -> Field Operation -> Forced Film

    then you gotta set the Inverse Telecine in TMPGenc

    but all I see is this
    TMPGenc
    Setting -> Advanced -> [x] Inverse Telecine (Convert to 24fps: Non-Interlace source)

    hope someone else can elaborate on this
