Weird colors in SVCD

I recently converted a Divx movie to SVCD using the guide provided on this site. I used tmpgEnc and Virtual Dub. I burned it with Nero. All the conversion and burning went without a hitch, but when I play it on my standalone DVD player (Raite 675), the colors go constantly from black to white and then to color. This happens throughout the movie. I would appreciate any help.

After you used TMPGENc and you got the mpeg, does that play ok ? If not try this;

Select options > environmental settings
click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

Also, if you have the SMR codec installed, un install it, and install the Nimo codec pack instead, this make sure the right codec is being used.
