  2. What happens when you try? More information needed.

    Normally you open the avi file and select the check-box popup extended options dialogue and the select Rederive Keyframe flags. It will then open an incomplete avi.

    Are you talking about the .dat files from P2P programs ? Use TMPGEnc instead. Copy the file to a new location and rename to .AVI then use TMPGEnc and load, then hit preview to view what you have.

    Vdub will open them, but you need to check the "pop up open extended options" and use re-derive key frames, its quicker to use TMPGEnc
