  1. hey, i am making VCDs and i have come across a couple of files in which Virtual Dub recognizes the audio compression as "Unknown [tag 2000]". I try to extract the audio from a AVI file and it wont let me. The error message is as follows:

"The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check taht the sampling rate and channel count for the input match those of the requested format."

If anyone could help me resolve my problem it would be greatly appreciated.

  2. What you have there is a Divx file with AC3 audio. Save as WAV, but make sure that "direct stream copy" is selected in the Audio menu. Change the extension of the file to AC3 and use Headac3e to convert it to WAV...

    Select file > file information

That should tell you what codec was used for the audio, you may have a missing codec, Install the Nimo codec pack
