  1. I tried to burn a movie in VCD form using Nero and came into this problem:

    It said

    MPEG1 instead of MPEG2
    Invalid video stream 29.97seconds 352x240
MPEG file is not suitable for SVCD

    Turn off compliance

    or

    Reencode file video?

What should I do at this point, which one do I chose to burn the SVCD?

Oh, btw I checked the nero help file and it said that I need to d/l mpeg2/SVCD plugin in from their site. Do I need to get that?

I think what crusty is talking about is the FAQ - it wil possibly answer your question. Anywaz..

What Nero is basically saying is that the video file you are trying to burn is not a 'standard' for the SVCD Nero template that you are trying to use. (I assume) Try the VCD template option rather than SVCD as it looks like your source file is an MPEG1 file (VCD) and not MPEG2 (SVCD).

Try that first - if it still asks then look at the FAQ to get the 'standard' for VCD correct - do not let Nero re-encode unless you really have to coz it's not all that clever...

Just select the SVCD template in Nero !?

Make sure the source is a SVCD MPEG though or you're completly wasting your time and CD's...

    Dear HardBody6Pack:

On the left side of your screen in the upper left hand corner, just below the VCDHelp icon is the title "What Is". Just above the "VCD", "SVCD", and "DVD" options.

The gurus are telling you to have a MPEG-2 file to make an SVCD, and a MPEG-1 for VCDs.
    Hello.
