    Hello all. This may be a simple question, but I can't find the answer right off with the search.
    I recently purchased TMPGEnc Plus full version, the most recent. I then installed the MPEG2 Plugin so as to be able to open MPG2 files in the encoder itself.

    The Good: I can now open MPG2 AND Vobs

    The Bad: I only get the Video part, no audio

    Why? I was just messing around and found that Vobs will now load so what gives with the audio not loading? I don't think I will ever really use it unless I want to re-encode like a PAL SVCD to NTSC. Thanks.

    The mpeg2 plugin doesn't support audio. You could get a mpeg2 codec or use the dvd2avi method to convert mpeg2, www.vcdhelp.com/mpeg2tovcd.htm .

  3. assuming you have the latest version of tmpg, go to options -> environmental settings -> general and make sure that "enable multiplex" is checked. then select the mpeg2 file as your video source , then reselect it as your audio (you might have to select the view all files option when selecting the audio file). this should solve your problem.

    @Baldrick
    I am familiar with the DVD2AVI process, I was just hoping that I might have found a way to cut out the middle process and go straight from MPG2 to MPG2 or for simple DVD stuff, straight from VOB to MPG2.

    I tried that, but it didn't work for me. It isn't really important that it work, I just thought maybe I had found a new work around for VOBs and MPG2 files.

    Open Tmpeg. Go to Mpeg tools and choose simple remux. Open the vob file,Tmpeg will load the vob into the video and audio stream boxes and the Mpeg output box. Click run and it wil create an mpeg file with audio and video that is DVD qaulity and can be opened and encoded in Tmpeg. If you still don't have audio i'd say you extracted the DVD in stream mode and did not include any audio stream.
