Hi, thanks for reading![]()
I'm trying to convert a divx movie to mpg to burn into vcd but i cant do it because TMPGEncoder only accepts 44100kHz as frequency not 48000kHz as my divx are. How can i convert the audio using virtualdub to 44100kHz?
I tryed some times but i always get an error: ACM failed to suggest audio decompression format then AVIOutputWAV: invalid identificator

Actually, You don't need to resample the frequency-rate of your audio. TMPGenc (at least the lastest version) does the downscalling for you.
If you intend to do it yourself, I rather advise you to use programs like 'SoundForge' while in these kind of apps you've got also the possibility to use the filter 'anti-alias' which will result in better results when down-scalling. -
Very often, the 48hz audio also happens to be Ac3, so I do a direct stream copy of the audio to a wav file (using the AC3 version of VDub), then use Headac3he or Besweet for the resampling/conversion, then re-unite the resulting audio with its video file in TMPGEnc.
Works like a charm. -
There's a guide for something like this.
