  1. just dloaded some new avi/divx movies off of the net, and they won't play at all. wondering if I got hosed or there is something I should do? is there a possibility that I need a newer divx codec to run them?? any help would rock!

  2. hey I have exactly the same problem . Could it be the version of div x? I have the latest one 5.02. Weird thing is that some will play in media player, some wont. None of them will work in tmpeg i only get the audio part. I usually load them into virtual dub and save them back out as an avi, but they wont even do that . Have you tried that and do you have the same problem?

  3. If you're using Xp like me than some files just won't play in media player. You can however play them in avi players like Twin Video or Divx Playa. If the picture isn't coming up on TMPGE then you just don't have the right codec. Try installing nimo's codec pack. There's a link in the tools section. It has almost every codec you'll ever need.
