Hello, i am well aware of the fact this might have been covered a million times. But i have read a ton of threads and have gotten mixed reviews about all the card i have been considering, which are:
    Leadtek Winfast 2000XP
    AVERMEDIA AVERTV STUDIO
HAUPPAUGE WINTV 125-CHANNEL PCI TV TUNER W/DBX STEREO
HAUPPAUGE WINTV 125-CHANNEL PCI TV TUNER W/DIGITAL DIGITIZER
HAUPPAUGE WINTV-GO 125-CHANNEL PCI TV TUNER CARD

I was actually ready to purchase the Leaktek based on about 3-4 good reviews, but they dont seem to go deep into capturing video. I am basically looking for a card that will allow me to put my home movies from a 8mm Sony Handycam to VCD and SVCD if possible. Thanks in advanced for any helps/comments/suggestions.

  2. I would go with a WinTV, they have good drivers, and the video quality is good.

Can u be a bit more specific? Here is the site i am going to buy it from www.mwave.com Unfortunately it has to be this site since it is near me and i can do will call and pick up my stuff and pay cash. I dont have a credit card or else i would order online and such. If there are any around $100 mark i might be able to get enough. Also is there any sites where i can check out the WinTV models more thoroughly cause Hauppauge's site doesnt have much info on the cards, and its confusing on top of that.
