NERO WONT RECONIZE 90MIN 800MEG CD'S :((

Hi all just was given a 90min 800mb CD-R brand akai from a friend just so i can test it trying to burn 2 episodes of a show on it each eps is about 41mins each so altogether is about 85mins but nero doesnt recongise that i have a 90min cd i have tried easy cd creator and a few other burning programs as well nothing seems to recongize this 90MIN 800MB CD-R

Any suggestions please !!!!!!!!!!

Do i need a new burner or some sort of software other than what is so common ??? )

Nero won't recognise the media as a 90min CD as it only supports media up to 80min.

If my memory serves me well, you have to configure Nero to overburn up to 90mins and your burner will handle the rest.

That is of course if your burner supports 90min CDs :P

I don't know what you mean by "NERO doesn't recognize"... I burn 99 minute CDRs to 95 minutes (the limit of my burner) all the time... and with NERO.

Maker sure that you have set the EXPERT FEATURES in NERO to allow overburning to the limit of your CD burner.

Tnx ppl for the replys but i have set my setting to overburn on NERO and still wont work I have even tried doing an image file first then burning no go as well maybe it is my burner it prob doesnt support this hight range cd-r 90min cds hmm what a waste of money buying them lol

What do you mean by "won't work"? Is Nero refusing to even start the burn or is the burn crapping out half way through? What error message do you get?

How do you find out the overburn limits of your burner? Is it just a matter of trial and error? I have a Pacific Digital 16*10*40 and have just ordered my first batch of 90min CDRs.

Well i know its not burning cause soon as i start to write on this 90min cd nero says please place a higher disk so the actual burn process never started and i must say my burner is about 1 year old and only burns a 8x speed so maybe i think i really need a new burner

Hi!! My nero ver 5582 do not recognize 90min/800mb also!! My cd burn is a new LG Combo GCC 2120b CD/DVD 32x12x8.

Any sugestion????

Just ordered and recieved some 90 Min CDRs myself and was alittle worried that I might have a problem but the folks I got them from sent me instructions onhow to setup Nero to use them............ This kinda service makes me go back and buy more stuff from people like this. Here are the instructions I got and recognize that your burner just might nor might not like 90 Min CDRs

NOTE: 80 Min and 74 Min CDrs are standard formats not 90 Min. When you first put the CD (90min.) in your drive it will be recgnized as a 80min CDR.Once you burn the full 800MB\90min and put it back in the drive it will be recognized as a 90min CD.

NERO INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1 - Open NERO
Step 2 - Go to File; Preferences, General screen will come up.
Step 3 - Uncheck the third box from the top ( Check for correct CD format)
Step 4 - Select the Expert Features tab and put a checkmark in the 2nd box from the top labeled Enable OverBurn.
Step 5 - Set the maximum CD length to 89 Min 58 Sec 0 frm
Step 6 - Click OK

When ready to burn and you go to the Burn Screen you must have the writing method set to Disc-At-Once

Now once my new 40x10x40 burner gets here ............. its on

kevins got it right, also try upgrading to nero 5.5.5.1. i am burning 90min and 99 min cdrs. cant wait to get my hands on the new 120 min cdrs.
im out like a fat kid in dodgeball....bloo
