I have a PS2, which I would like to be able to play VCDs on. However, it doesn't support the format (I wonder why Sony didn't incorporate VCD/SVCD playback - they have had to put in MPEG decoders for DVD playback which presumably support MPEG-1 as well as MPEG-2).
Does anyone know of a way in which I can write a VCD which will run in a PS2, or otherwise persuade a PS2 to run a standard VCD? I would really prefer not to open the case of my PS2, or do any soldering etc.
Thanks for any advice!

There is no way that a PS2 can play VCD it is a DVD player ONLY. Trying to play anything but a DVD in your PS2 is a waste of your time. 8)
