I have a LG DV 390H dvd player, and brought some (cheap) CVDs (I am in singapore). Our dvd player is already set to multizone (code 0), but when I put one of the CVDs in it says "invalid disc". I was told that all DVD machines will play a CVD - is there a setting that can be changed?
(nothing wrong with the discs - they play fine on my PC)

    Thanks

    Are they VCDs or CVDs?

    CVDs aren't so well supported.

Also, I don't think that region coding affects VCDs anyway.

Anyway, "cheap" may be more the problem.
If you have a burner, clone a VCD to a new disc of a name brand, and try that.

Many BluRay players do not support any formats except DVD, BluRay, MP3 and JPG. That's it. The only way to fix this is to convince the manufacturer to put support for the format in the firmware. Good luck with that.

Many DVD players won't play VCD or CVD either. And by the way, CVD and VCD are NOT the same thing. VCD support is more likely than CVD support.

    Have you RTFM?
That should tell you explicitly what it supports.
