  1. I've been test burning VCD's for a friend for his Sony DVP-NS300 DVD Player. So far I've learned to make VCD's pretty good and that doesn't seem to be the issue at hand. The issue that we do have is major pixelation when playing the disc on his player. I get perfect quality in my PC's standalone dvd player but when played on his it's very iffy.

I've narrowed this down to being a disc issue so that begs the question, what brand/quality of cd-r/w disc's work best for this player??

  2. Somebody suggests

    1. Black Media CD-R
    2. High Quality CD-RW
    3. Burn At Low Speed

I have tried all the methods, the best is still to get a more sensitive DVD player specially made to play CD-R/RW.

Something you might want to know about manufacturing of CD-Rs. From engineering point of view, it's best to burn at half the top speed of writer/media with the media speed takes higher priority. Burning at top speed is never recommended as marginal error is common is manufacturing world where the testing equipments might have marginality problem and it so happens that marginally passed products passed through the quality check to save cost, increase productivity especially during bad economy times...

  3. Try burn with Nero and disable these 2 features under Video-Cd options:

    -Create standard compliant CD-

    -Use CD-i application-

  4. Thanks I'll give both of those a try, although these Sony players are about the best/most sensitive to playing CD-xx media there is I believe.
