  1. I have seen information that 352x480 is the correct resolution for VCD
I always thought 352x240(NTSC) was the VCD specs?

What is 352x 480 and is it a valid VCD format....

352x480 (or x576) is a valid DVD resolution. The pixels are rectangular, not square, when displayed. It looks normal on your TV screen or set-top player, but long and skinny in Windows Media Player. This is normal.

It has nothing to do with VCD though. Repeateth along with me, the holy numbers of VCD. (NTSC).

    352x240 pixels, 1150kbps video, 224kbps audio.

    352 x 240 x 1150 x 224
    352 x 240 x 1150 x 224
    352 x 240 x 1150 x 224
    352 x 240 x 1150 x 224
    352 x 240 x 1150 x 224
    352 x 240 x 1150 x 224
    352 x 240 x 1150 x 224
