ok i have had this problem a few times and just put it down to the files.
i have downloaded a couple of movies that i want to convert to vcd/svcd. the encoder accepts everything and runs saying theyre were no errors at all yet there is no video in completed files. just a black screen with the audio.
any one know how to fix this. the last movie i tried with was dog soldiers, is it just the file.
help much appriciated

Need more information. What you have given is a little vague. I assume you have downloaded DivX encoded AVI file? and you want to convert it to VCD or SVCD format using TMPGEnc?
Is that right? -
it is an avi file. it plays fine as avi.
and i'm using the basic templates provided with tmepgenc -
Unless you have a T1 (or better connection) that *.avi IS DivX
Ensure you have the correct DivX codec
It comes in many 'flavours' : 3.11 , 4.02, 5 and so on ....... -
ok i will say it again the file works fine to play it as avi. i have the most uptodate codecs i can get.
but when i convert it it comes out as a black screen but the audio is fine. that is the problem. -
