  1. Tried to improve the bitrate in encoding avi to svcd by using 800 mb cd-r's. But when I burn with Nero (HP9100) it doesn't recognize it's a 800 mb cd-r and it won't let me burn the file...how can I solve this..???

is it not recognizing the CD, or is it saying that the file is too big?
if it doesn't recognize the disc, make sure you have the newest version of both the firmware for the drive, and the newest version of Nero
If it is saying the file is too big, I would use VCDeasy to make an image, and then file-->burn image in Nero
what are you askin' me for...

  3. It's saying the file is too big because it doesn't recognize the media (as a 90 minutes cd..) It's reading the cd-r as a 80 minutes cd.....

were you trying to use the integrated CDRDAO?
I've not been able to get that to work.
I would just use VCDeasy to generate the bin/cue files, and then mount the image to daemon tools, and use Nero to do CD copy--should work with no problems.
BTW, if your mpeg is 800MB, you only need a 80 min(800MB) CD, not a 90 minute disc--in mode 2(VCD/SVCD), you should be able to fit about 807MB--maybe more. just make sure to enable overburning in Nero.

  6. My MPEG is 884 Mb....I encoded it to fit on a 90 minutes CD...I tried the overburn option in Nero, but it stops after 94% (buffer underrun message...I can still read the SVCD in my standalone DVD-player but the last 8 minutes are missing..

    sorry, I misunderstood
does your drive support 90 minute CDs?
which version of Nero--upgrade to the newest.
also, make sure you have the latest firmware for your burner.
other than that, sorry, but I have no experience working with 90 minute discs.
