please help.i have copied spiderman off my neighbour on too 2 discs.the copies are spot on quality.i inserted them in both drives.i opened up tmpegenc and tried to join them.no success.when i go to the part where it says add,i search for the drive and open.obviousley in the box it looks for mpeg stream, but i can only locate it if i click on all files.when i locate the other part of spiderman then select output it says make sure not copy writed.so i try another way.i copied the spiderman files to hard drive, then located again with tmpgenc in cut and merge.again i am having to select all files rather than mpeg stream to locate.once added and selected output i get unable to create location.is there a way of changing the file so tmpgenc recognises the file as a mpeg file rather than all files?i must say that when i opened the files off the disc,it has a divx icon, but doesnt play as it is mpeg.plays ok in media player, and in dvd/vcd player. please help. ian

Sounds like a wined up, but huh I'm game...
When you selected the output file (You did change its location did you) as you cannot write to a cd-rom.
The output should have been c:\temp\yourmovie.mpg or something like that.
When you try to add the file, TMPGEnc will look for supported files like AVI, Mpg Not a *.dat file, but if you type *.* into the box, it will show all files, letting you select the dat file.
when i locate the other part of spiderman then select output it says make sure not copy writed. > CD-ROM
i am having to select all files rather than mpeg stream to locate. > File is *.DAT not recognized as the right extension.
A better way would be to use VCDGear and convert the VCD mpeg back to a standard Mpeg, which TMPGENC will love ! -
thanks m8 i as not changing output, but now changed output to c:/documents but now when i try to run i get file***dat. not compatable with other mpeg file
