DVDRW install problem Sony dru-120a

Hey guys, i just recently bought a sony DRU-120A dvd writer and i cannot get it to work, everytime i stick in a blank cd, i am unable to open up any of my programs. also when i run NeoDVD i try to burn a video (.mpg) to dvd with the blank dvd-r media in the drive, it will eject the dvdrw tray out and say no disc has been inserted. i tried puttin in a new dvdr media but same thing happens. Any suggestions?

when this happened to me and my dru120a it was because i bought -r blanks just check yr blanks are +r

Ohh your righttt!? i bought dvd-r. Whats the diff between dvd-r and dvd+r???? Thanks so much for your help

the difference put simply is theyre completely different formats, the only similarity they share is that theyre round and silvery lol

Can the +R/+RW even be called a "format"? According to this info, it isn't.
