  1. Hello,

I want to know if it is possible that, if I have a .mpg file (SVCD) on my HD, and someone else has the original DVD, with subtitles that I want, if he could rip those subtitles in some way, send them to me, and so that I could burn the mpg file with the subtitles, so I have an episode (it's South Park with subtitles?

I will explain it some more.
    We have:
    • Episode.mpg <- My episode without subtitles, in SVCD
    • A person with the original DVD of the episode, with subtitles

Could that person, rip the subtitles in some way, send them to me, so that I, can add those subtitles to my Episode.mpg, and burn it as a SVCD??
That way the person won't have to rip the complete episode, including audio + video, but only the subtitles (in a small file) for me.

    Thanks in advance!!

  3. You can add subtitles to the SVCD with I-Author (check Doom9 for I-Author guide) but I think it doesn't work in all standalones. Anyway for the definitive inclusion of subtitles in the video itself you will have to reencode with virtualdub and use a vobsub filter. That is why I'm stll stuck with Flaskmpeg

  4. have your friend rip the individual subtitle track with smartripper using stream processing and send it to you. convert the subtitles to bitmaps using subrip, mux with iauthor and burn with easycd creator
