Can anyone please help me to solve below:-
I've followed the instruction in scenario 2 of "How to add permanent subtitles with VobSub", however, a error message dialogue appeared with "thread deadlock detected attempting to abort".
Actually I've been successfully to add an english subtitle file into the AVI file. This time I want to add a Chinese Big 5 subtitle file but experienced the above problem.![]()
I would also like to ask is that a must to save the subtitle-added file as AVI file? What about MPEG file? Can I add subtitle to a MPEG file so that I don't need to convert the AVI file to MPEG file using TMPGEnc.
Please help. Many thanks.

I am not sure, what the error message means. Maybe the filter can not handle chinease language? Which subtitle format do you have?
You don't need to save the avi. As mentioned frameserve to the MPEG encoder instead. -
The subtitle file is subripped format (.SRT).
Sorry...I don't understand what means "frameserve to the MPEG encorder", could you tell me how?
Many thanks.
