    Hello Chris,

I have been using your program for more then 3,5 years now, and this is
my main software. It's been great !!

I would like to ask you for a help - I have been having troubles adding
subtitles on DVD made with SVC2DVD , I did not care about it before, but
recently started to bother me a lot.

I read all I could find in support forums, but I could not see that this
issue was definitely addressed & solved.

I tried checking logs myself, and it appears that subtitles are added,
however, I can never play it on my DVD. It is NOT DVD issue (I am 1000%
sure), I have 2 DVD players (Pioneer and Liteon) and both DVD players
will play subtitles in DVD that I create with software such as DVD Flick
    or ConvertXtoDvd.

I do not want to use these other programs and I only used them to see if
I can manage to add subtitles to my DVD.

I tried every which way I could think of (I know I need to convert .srt
file to .sup , which I did with Subtitle creator and that file must be
identically named as movie file ; .. I also tried all kind of other
subtitles and never had any success)

I will post 2 log files for your review, I would really IMMENSELY
APPRECIATE if you could help me and identify the problem.

I believe one file had title : "Australia 2008 DVDSCR XviD-KingBen.sup " and another file was "Snakes.On.A.Plane[2006]DvDrip[Eng]-aXXo.sup" .

I addition, I did an experiment today -with latest version of SVCD2DVD , so I made a little DVD movie, where I where I worked with movie file named as "A" and subtitle file was "A.sup" . Both files were in the same folder and nothing else was in that folder.

I uploaded this log file too - please see further below.

Again, Log file shows that subtitle was inserted (please see:

    " 08:56:44: Adding subtitle stream
    08:57:33: SupMuxer: Done. )

But once again, neither of my 2 DVD players could display the subtitles, and I could not see subtitles on computer either with latest version of VLC media player.

Did you mean- you need both both video file and subtitle file ? Or you meant only subtitle file ?

    O.K. Chris,

as you asked I sent you an email with win rar file with one small movie sample which I used for experiment.

    I did following:

I cut out small portion of movie "the Reader" , approximately about 3 min long
Then I did the same with subtitles.
Next, I processed subtitle (.srt file) and converted it to .sup (subtitle) file, using
    Subtitle Creator.
I placed everything in the same folder, meaning I put avi file, .srt file, and
. sub file in the same folder & processed everything with SVCD2DVD. Files were named as:
    "the Reader.avi" , "the Reader.srt" & "the Reader.sup"
(log file indicates that subtitles were added)
Then I burned project on DVD and tested it on my 2 DVD players (Lite on DVD player/recorder
and Pioneer DVD Player), and neither one could display the subtitles.

Please see log : " svcd2dvdlog-20090205220440 " (in email). This is when I worked with 3 files ( avi file,
.srt file, and . sub file in the same folder)
    ____________

Next, just in case I repeated all this, but this time I excluded .srt subtitle file in the
"experiment folder" , but the final result was exactly the same, i.e. no subtitles showing

Please see log : " svcd2dvdlog-20090205214257 " (in email) This is when I worked with 2 files ( avi file,
and . sub file in the same folder)
    ________________

Finally, I processed the very same assets with DVD Flick , and the result was success - meaning
I could see the subtitles on DVD (selectable subtitles that is)

Hopefully you can take a look at this and figure out what is going on ?

Your help is very much appreciated !!!

    Kind Regards

Chrisseyboy, I am still waiting to hear from you.

Chrisseyboy, 2 weeks ago I sent you all info you asked for (in order to look into the issue). I am disappointed to see that you did not respond yet. Years ago (when i first signed up with you) , it seems you would try to answer questions and help with issues much more then now days.

I could be wrong , but this strongly suggest that your customer support (once impecable customer service) is going down the drain....

Ok works fine.... The sup file you sent was PAL, yet the DVD is NTSC. So basically the subs are off the bottom.

    Make a NTSC sup file:

And you will get the subs as normal:
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Thanks ChrissyBoy !!!! Your help is much appreciated !!!!

I did as you said and it works. I can not believe my eyes how simple was the solution.

    chrifili

P.S. Just one last question - I think that with SVCD2DVD I can add one subtitle to a DVD , I can not add multiple subtitles (i.e. subtitles in multiple languages). Am I right about it or there is way to add multiple subtitles ??
