  1. Does anyone know is there a DVD player which will play DVD recordable disc which consist of VCD extracted files without converting it as shown in VCDHELP.com?

In short, meaning I would just copy out the VCD files and then dump it into the DVD player. I am sure its possible, just depend on codec or programming.

Anyone knows any current hardware out there that could do that other than a computer?

Am looking for a solution without a comp

  2. DVD-R(W) is too new for the shortsighed far east equipment makers to have thought of that.

Best bet - make a disk like you say and take it to your local electronics store & try it out. Apex brand players might be a good place to start.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

kitty is right, that won't work. your best bet is to go down the vcd-dvd route. look at the guide on how to create one of these discs on this site.
