Hi all VCD-enthusiasts! I´m new at this so hopefully I can explain my problem in a comprehensive way...
I´v extracted the audio (VirtualDub 1.4.7 ) converted (TMPGEnc 2.53.35.130) and burned (VCDEasy 1.0.8) the first part of a film as instructed in the "DivX to VCD All-In-One Guide". (Exellent guide for Newbies!!!)
I encounter problems when I start converting the second part of the film. After just a progress of 5 % TMPGEnc announces of a problem as followd:What can I do to override or correct this problem. Please HELP a keen Newbie!!!Illegal floating decimal point calculation order
Here are some specs for the file conversion:
"Video-CD NTSC Film (MPEG-1 352x240 23,976fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)"
Thanx

check the frames with VirtualDub. see if any are bad and goto envirmental settings then vfapi-ins' then set the directshow to 1

That generally means theres an error in one or more frames of your source AVI. You can using VirtualDub to remove the bad frames. Load the file into VirtualDub. Set audio and video to direct stream copy. Start playing the file. VirtualDub will stop at the error. Make a note of the frame. Move forward until the error goes away, make a note of that frame too. Now you will have to select the part before the error and save it as *part1.avi (or whatever you prefer), then do the same with the part after the error (only with a *part2.avi name). Then reload and join those two parts as a new avi. Now you can run TMPGenc on it again. Depending on where the error was and how long it was you might not even notice it. I had a scene in Shogun Assassin like this and it just made Itto look even more deadly in one fight scene 'cause you saw him draw his sword and then the other guy was just dead =)

There isn't a way to fix the bad frames instead of delete them? Also, would it be possible if TMPG released a version that could be set to automatically skip bad frames from the source avi file?

Try extracting the audio to wav then rejoining it as a wav to the avi before you do the editing.
