  1. Im having troubles with audio sync thats out on a dvd. im beginning to think Im making a mistake early on. What im trying to do is put a weekly soap onto a dvd. There are four episodes each week. Currently, what im doing is downloading the individual avi files for each episode. The audio is fine then, when i check it on the computer. I then use winavi to change the individual files to a video_ts file. The audio is ok when i check each file at this stage, but being a bit fussy, I would say not as good as the original file. I have tried Total Video Converter and the result is the same. I then try to build the dvd useing TMPGEnc adding each Video_ts file for each episode. It is after that, if i check the output the audio is out. I have treid useing nero, again with the same result, the audio is out by about a second or so throughout the whole disk, for each of the four episodes. When i have burnt the episodes onto a disk as a avi file, they are fine, but the dvd player that is used for watching these does not recognise the avi files.
I also do the exact same procedure for another series, but the downloads are mpeg files, and i have no problems at all.
I am open to any suggestions, anything that will get the avi files onto a dvd, to keep the wife happy. Great site by the way, i have learnt a lot from it.
    Many thanks,
    John

Try ConvertXtoDVD instead of WinAVI. It is generally more reliable. Just add all 4 avi files and create one disc in one go.

Or buy a DVD player that can play avi files, and you may find you can fit half or a whole series on a single DVD.

  3. Please follow the instructions on this page regarding AVIMuxGUI. Then use these files to create your DVD's.

Pay no mind that it concerns SVCD2DVD. You need to get your files in sync before conversion.

  4. Ok many thanks, will try all. the one thing that confuses me though is that the conversion to the video_ts seems to be ok, when i check it with VLC, although as i said before the sound is a little bit reduced. Its only when i put them altogether things seem to go a bit pearshaped. Anyway, trying everything, thanks.
Oh yep, I know it would be easier to buy a stand alone dvd player, but the iwfe has a combi thing that she likes to use, and besides that, i hate things like this that icant resolve.
Still, i will let you know what happens,
    Thanks again

  5. Ok, problem solved with the use of ConvertXtoDVD, burnt a dvd fine, and works with both dvd players. when i get time i will try to find out why I had the original problem. Imgburn was no help, all it did was produce an image file of the AVI files. I just cant understnad why the orignal video_ts files produced by the winavi were Ok, but not when they were added to a disk useing nero or TMPGEnc. Anyway, not imprtant now, many thanks for you efforts, I owe you all a beer

  6. Why would be that WinAvi was not producing compliant files is my guess. Using a Software player on the computer tends to hide problems.

  7. I am baffled, I have used exactly the same procedure but for some mpeg files and its always been the bit betweent the video_ts files and the bit ot make the final dvd. Anyway, one day i will try to find out, thanks everyone

You need to read the guides at the imgburn 2 site. You were one button press away from getting a disc instead of an image.
