  1. Hi
I have an xvid movie file which plays fine on my PC using PowerDvd.
When I convert it to DVD using the latest version of Svcd2dvd the sound is way out of sync with the lip movement.
The mpeg file made when converting also has audio out of sync when played on the PC.
I have other xvid files which have been converted ok so I suspect the file is corrupt but I am puzzled that it plays ok before convertion and DivFix does not fix it/show any errors.
This is the log file from my problem convertion:

  6. Hi again ChrissyBoy
Forgot to mention that I have converted this file to DVD using Nero and the sound sync is ok when played on PC or stand alone DVD player, so it appears the file is ok?

Yes i did find this to be the case. I am looking into it. It would seem that there is a lot of "JUNK CHUNKS" at the begining...

No not yet. I have tried many things/tools to identify, fixed the issue. Whatever i use actually creates the same sync issue in the avi that we see in the mpeg! I have sent a sample to the ffmpeg development team to investigate too, so we can but wait I'm afraid.

Ok i have a solution for you. Using AVI-Mux GUI

    Fireup AVI-Mux GUI:

Add your file to the list:

    1. Then Click on the file.
    2. Click on "Generate data source...."
    3. Click on the Audio stream
    4. Note the Audio delay. This is the issue we have!
    5. Click "Start".

A new file will be saved with the audio delay resolved. Process as normal in SVCD2DVD!

The AVI-Mux GUI process takes under 2 minutes for a 700MB AVI file.

Let me know how you get on.

  13. Hi ChriisyBoy
Tried your 'fix' and it worked a treat, sound now in sync after converting to Dvd with Svcd2Dvd.

Noted that the 'fixed' file generated from AVI-Mux did not play on my PC with PowerDvd or WMP although the original did, but after converting with Svcd2Dvd all is ok.

    Many thanks for your help.
