  1. My DVD player won't play svcd. Movies look great in svcd format on my computer but is it worth it to convert to vcd so I can play on my tv? Or will I lose too much quality? My other option is to run from my GeForce4 tv-out to the tv. Any opinions?

  3. My dvd players does play vcds. I guess I should also mention that sound quality (or certification) isn't that important since I'm only playing through my tv speakers.

  4. If you don't mind deviating from the standard specs, XVCD can match or exceed SVCD quality in most repects. Strictly by the standards, VCD is clearly inferior to SVCD. My player handles the VCD format better than SVCD, so I make XVCD's. But I don't care about compatibility with other players.

  5. Have you tried putting a vcd header on your Svcd to trick player into playing svcd, its in the HOW TO section (Burn svcd etc)....on this site.

    it reads -
Not all DVD players will play SVCD's, and converting SVCD to VCD is a hassel, takes awhile, and cuts the quality of the video. Here is a way to put a VCD header on your SVCD to make you DVD player think it's playing a VCD.

    ETC
