For example i have the sony dvp-NS315 and when its turned on the light turns green on it but when i turn it off the light turns red but i geuss its not fully off. Is it ok to just leave it on all the time when the light is on all the time (red)? Or would it be bettter to pull the plug everytime im not useing it? Cause i dont wana burn out this thing. any info would be great. thanks

  2. Does the unit or AC adapter feel hot or very warm? If so, you can unplug it to be safe.

If all feels cool or lukewarm, there's probably no need to unplug it.

If you in standby mode for a day(24 hour) with a disc inserted and the disc is only mildly warm or cool even then don't worry, My Pioneer and Toshiba are good like this but my Palsonic gets hot after a while , fortunatly it has a hard on/off switch on the front panel.
