    Any ideas ??

    Thanks a lot

Is it also black when you read the avi in VirtualDub ?

If so , it's a DivX bug... install DivX 5.01

While you are converting you should see the movie, if you cannot then do as I suggested. If the problem still exists then load the AVI into Vdub, select video and audio streaming and save out another copy. This will fix 90% of the problems.

  7. try to uninstall the dvix codec & download one of the older ones this should do the trick as tmpeg is a bit funny at times... Also the templates sometimes have something to do with it so if it does not work with any of the standard ones there are some in the tools section for download.

  8. WHat LETMINFORGODSAKE
IS saying is listed in the firstguide under convert (look left)
Down near the bottom of the guide it says problems with TMPGenc clich here and ifyou do it will tell you to chage a priority. If you do then you will have no problem.
We were all NEWBIES once and the only stupid question is the one that's not asked?

Ok what I was referring to was setting the DirectShow priority to a higher setting, lots of people have reported black movies when this is low.

Load TMPGEnc Select Option > Environmental settings > VFAPI plug-in

Highlight the "Direct Show multimedia file reader" and click your right hand mouse button on it and select higher priority, you will see its number change and it moves up the list, mine is at the top with priority 4

If this is the problem, you should now see the preview, if its not the problem, you need to load it into Vdub and save out another copy using video and audio streaming.

These are the most common faults,

if you cannot see it in Vdub the correct codec is missing, unless you installed the SMR if you did get rid of it...

    And it could also....
