  1. i have just had broadband access installed with a cable modem to give me some amazing speed and never ending connection, for the basic purpose of downloading films and games etc, my problem now is transferring them to disc, today for example, i downloaded "tomb raider" from morpheus in .AVI format, this i can watch on my pc, perfectly. but i have no idea how to get it onnto a disc, i have tried burning it straight onto disc using nero, but it wont work, i guess that i need some conversion software to change it from .AVI before burning, any help here would be greatly appreciated.

  4. one more thing......please tell me that i am doing something wrong, as the film i have is already split in two, and one half of it is gona take 5 hours to convert, and that is on normal mode....surely there is a faster way of converting them, or a programme that will just burn the avi to disc without conversion

  6. It depends on what you want to do with the CD-R after burning.
If you simply want to archive it to free up HDD space, just burn the AVI files on CD-R. Period.
If you want to play that CD-R in a stand alone DVD player, it needs to be converted to MPEG, then use Nero to burn it as VCD. This way, it can be played by most DVD players.
And YES, IT DOES TAKE A LONG TIME TO CONVERT. THAT'S LIFE with software conversion.
If you can get a dual 1.5 GHz running Windows 2000 Pro, then it will convert one hour AVI to MPEG in one hour.
