Hi,
I very much want to choose an acceptaple capture card. By acceptable I mean that will give the best end results in quality picture on full sized TV viewing when played by relatives who get the burned CDs I want to send them.
I'm also interested in TV and Radio capabilities, so I've been looking at this website's TV card comparision tables. Because of the VERY high capture resolution rating it gives a Hauppauge card, I'm considering their Win TV PVR card.
Is that a good choice for end quality results? Even though those other capabilities are very desirable for me, my main wish is for quality(understand that it will be a second generation reproduction) in the capturing of my VHS videos. Burning those VHS videos onto CDs for relatives is the most important issue.
Would that card be a good choice? Is there a better one in the same "lower middle" price range?
I'm appreciate Everyone's input, especially those that have this card or know how it performs in that regard!
Thanks, Slappy

I hope you considering the new WinTV-PVR 350.
MPEG1 VCD quality is just fine but min people are moving to DVD wirter for higher quality MPEG2 like what found on DVD disk. -
If you want to make VCD's I suggest a Provideo PV-231 or PV-233. These make great VCD's, and cost arount $100. or so.

SHS, I'll look into those newer cards
Barnabas, are those Provideo cards also TV/Radio cards?
AND Everyone.....are those Resolution numbers in the comparison table important to end result quality? Does a larger resolution capture mean a better quality end product on a TV screen(not having to enlarge much from captured resolution size?) -
PV-231 no Tuner
PV-233 with TV Tuner but no FM
It a good card but they it can't do MPEG2
Steve Review of PV231
50% of time this is ture, larger resolution capture mean a better quality end product on a TV screen and PC screen more so with fast action show or high motion video.
