This may be just the problem of having to decode so many channels from a web rip, but the latest Subtitle Edit 4.0.15 hangs on making the wave form with this media file descriptor:
slightly edited....

I certainly don't need an audio that complex and had to go to Media Info to find the descriptor

Possibly it cannot decode e-ac3 and/or it's 6 channels ? (just a guess)

I just wondered if there was an answer. It's not a big need or even want to do

Great. Thanks. I wonder if I would ever need to do that but it may be useful to others.
Or have an option in Subtitle Edit to avoid the program hanging up? My task when this occurred was just taking a subtitle at opensubtitles for tv show and synchronizing with the audio where the source was different. But I can do that visually.
